I think is ok to spank your children,if you ask me the older mothers thought they had controle over there children and that certain displays of rudeness was just ”natural for there age”. But when i was a child i got spanked when i did something wrong and i learned not to do it again and i dont have any permanent damage.

They threw out the methods parents had been using for centuries (or thousands of years) all on the basis of neo-Freudian speculation and then later very flawed statistical studies. The result–we got the Boomers–a group that Dr. Spock is as much to blame for as Dr. Leary.

I was indoctrinated in college by the liberal psychology and education professors to be anti-spanking. When I had my own –I changed my tune and have never looked back. And for my own satisfaction I went back and looked at all the research–not just the news bites and the popular press. I am on solid ground–as are my kids.
